A man is facing a robbery charge after an incident in Regina on Saturday.
Regina Police Service (RPS) said in a news release that officers received a call reporting a woman was screaming in the 3100 block of
Avonhurst Drive around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 25.

They found a woman had been walking down the sidewalk when she was approached by an unknown man. Police said the man had grabbed the woman’s backpack, pulled her to the ground and dragged her. The man walked away when the woman screamed for help.

Police located a man matching the description provided by the woman and arrested him.
A 31-year-old Regina man has been charged with robbery and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
RPS officer injured in collision
An RPS member was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after a “minor collision” which occurred on Broad Street and 4th Avenue North on Friday.
Police said in a news release that on Nov. 24, an officer was responding to a call for service around 7:20 p.m. after a report of a vehicle driving dangerously on Rochdale Boulevard and North Arnason Street.
The police vehicle was travelling north on Broad Street when a vehicle travelling south on Broad Street turned east on 4th Avenue North. There was a minor collision between the two vehicles and the police vehicle came to rest against a home in the 100 Block of Broad Street. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. No one in the residence was injured either.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and charges are pending, police said Sunday. The collision will also be reviewed Internally, police said.
