Canada’s climate plan is one more example of our current federal government spinning its wheels and failing to be effective.

Knowing that their plan doesn’t work, the Liberals resorted to burdening citizens with additional taxes. The carbon rebate is another sleight-of-hand tactic by the Liberals to lull us into acceptance of the carbon tax.

Last November, the federal Environment Commissioner reported to the House of Commons that the plan to reach our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions target by 2030 doesn’t measure up.
The Fraser Institute reported that our economy will lose 184,000 jobs. It also estimates that the current rebate plan could lead to $22 billion dollars in annual net losses which will require either spending reductions or new tax increases.
Canada’s share of global GHG emissions is is a mere 1.5 per cent, small relative to the world’s larger emitters. If Canada were net-zero today there wouldn’t be any measurable impact on the global climate.
The Conservatives plan to Axe the Tax and incentivize green projects. Canadian liquid natural gas is among the cleanest in the world and large-scale exports could offset global coal usage and make a real contribution to global carbon reduction. This approach would grow industry and provide many more good jobs for Canadians.
Soaring cost of living due in part to the carbon tax is severely affecting the ability of people on fixed incomes and many families to meet basic needs.
