King Charles and Queen Camilla’s enduring partnership has spanned over 50 years, with the last seven months showcasing the Queen’s seamless adaptation to her role, much to the King’s joy.
Despite health scares within the Royal Family, Camilla’s public presence has only grown stronger, expertly filling in where needed and keeping the monarchy on course.
As she approaches her 77th birthday, Camilla’s value is being increasingly acknowledged, particularly given the significant increase in her Royal duties.
“Camilla is certainly rocking it as she approaches her 77th birthday,” said Jennie Bond, a former BBC Royal correspondent speaking to OK!magazine. She suggested that the Queen may have even “surprised herself” with the sheer amount of work she’s taken on lately.
Jennie noted that Camilla has always been beyond the confines of a typical 9 to 5 job, but emphasized the recent spike in her engagements, especially as she steps up during King Charles’s health challenges, reports the Mirror.

The bond between Camilla and King Charles is a driving force behind her dedication, suggests Jennie, remarking: “I think part of it is because she so much wants the man she loves to be proud of her, and to pull her weight in their partnership.”
The Royal commentator, also highlighted the significant shift in public perception of Camilla who was once vilified as the ‘other woman’ and blamed for Princess Diana’s unhappiness. Camilla faced years of public scorn after her affair with then-Prince Charles came to light, despite both being married at the time.
However, their love story endured, leading to their eventual marriage following their respective divorces.
Speaking about Princess Diana’s views on Camilla, Jennie revealed: “I think Diana was absolutely right to tell me that Camilla was ‘loyal’ and that Charles’s love for Camilla was stronger than any marriage he might ever have made.”

She further commented on Camilla’s transformation over the years, saying: “These days I think Camilla is looking sleeker, smarter and more stylish than ever and she has grown immeasurably in confidence.
What a contrast to those early days when she looked and sounded so very nervous if she had to speak in public. Now she is assured, confident and comfortable in her new and very demanding role.”
This comes after the Duchess recently delivered a rare speech praising the nation’s servicemen and women as a “source of inspiration, reassurance and pride” on Armed Forces Day.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, delivered an emotionally charged message that pulled at the heartstrings, citing her deep ties with the military as the “proud daughter of an Army officer”.
Dressed with a meaningful gesture, she adorned herself with the Royal Lancers brooch, honouring her fathers esteemed regiment to which she is ceremonially connected.

Her late father, Major Shand, was a war hero who gallantly served with the 12th Lancers, earning the Military Cross for his heroics during the tumultuous Dunkirk evacuation in 1940 and again for valiant actions in North Africa in 1942.
Despite facing adversities including injuries and imprisonment, his indomitable spirit never wavered, and he lived a long life until passing away in June 2006 at 89 years old.
Reflecting on his example, Duchess lavished praise upon the servicemen and women, extending her profound gratitude for their sacrifice and commitment by praising: “Everything you do to protect this country of ours.”
She also commemorated those brave enough to make the “ultimate sacrifice” for worldwide peace.
The Queen paid homage to the 80th anniversary of D-Day, stating: “Eight decades later, I know that same spirit and those same qualities remain much in evidence throughout our Armed Forces, as you undertake your duties in the face of a multitude of challenges and dangers.”
“Your unwavering determination, constant efforts and selfless loyalty to each other and to the United Kingdom are mirrored by our enduring gratitude.”
