Newly appointed Odisha in-charge of the Congress, Ajoy Kumar trained guns on the Biju Janata Dal(BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), accusing them of being one entity and operating together. Making a veiled attack on the 5T chairperson, the Congress leader called upon party workers and people to ‘remove outsiders and save Odisha.’
As Kumar arrived at the Bhubaneswar airport on Saturday, the party accorded a warm welcome and he was taken in a motorcycle rally.
Interacting with the media, Kumar said, “Odisha is a beautiful state with nice people, rich language and culture. But now it is captured by outsiders who are running it.”
“Remove these outsiders and save Odisha. This is what the people of Odisha want,” he observed, reiterating that the BJP and BJD are together.
He also alleged that raids by the ED and CBI are not being carried out in Odisha. He wanted to know why this is not happening in Odisha, hinting that both the BJP and BJD are together.
He also stated that his responsibility is to make the Odisha Congress feel its strength, help people realise that Odisha and Congress are together and they will create magic in the upcoming elections.

In response, BJP leader, Subash Panigrahi pointed out the Congress debacle in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan in the recently held Assembly elections and said, “The Congress now has no roots in Odisha. No matter what the Congress does, it will have no impact in Odisha. They cannot do anything in Odisha. The BJP will fight alone and is working out strategies to form the government this time.”
BJD leader Amar Satpathy asserted, “There is no leader in the opposition parties who can match the image of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. By borrowing leaders from New Delhi, Congress is fighting for survival.”
