Ron DeSantis Evacuates 300 Americans from Israel via Airlift

Florida governor Ron DeSantis has launched an airlift operation that has helped evacuate nearly 300 American citizens trapped in Israel.

On Sunday, the flight was a success as the civilians landed at Tampa International Airport, where they were welcomed by DeSantis and his wife, Casey.

“Today, we welcomed nearly 300 Americans who have been in Israel since last week, when the violent attacks by Hamas terrorists began,” DeSantis wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The governor also thanked Project Dynamo, a non-profit organization committed to evacuating Americans, for their assistance.

As reported by The Daily Wire, DeSantis signed an executive order on Thursday to authorize the Sunshine State to carry out the flight and evacuation operation in Israel after Hamas launched a terror attack in Israel on Oct 7, which has killed over two dozen Americans.

In the executive order, DeSantis criticized President Joe Biden for not initiating evacuation operations for Americans stuck in Israel.

“The Biden administration has failed to launch any form of rescue or evacuation operations for Americans, including Floridians, stranded in the region, and has failed to provide information requested by the State of Florida about any plans for such operations,” DeSantis said.

He noted that the only thing Biden did was get people on flights and leave them in Europe after they were coerced into signing waivers promising to pay back the nation’s government for the flights.

On Sunday, The Florida Division of Emergency Management said it would help bring home those who have been stranded in Europe due to Biden’s response.

“If you are stranded in Athens and in need of safe transportation back to the United States, we may be able to assist you,” the organization posted on X. “Please complete our form at http://FloridaDisaster.org/Israel and share it with anyone who may need assistance.”

DeSantis Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern also encouraged people to fill out the form.
