Harry and Meghan discuss wedding reception in Netflix series
Meghan Markle and her team are desperate to get the “green light” on new projects before her and Prince Harry lose their lucrative deal with Netflix, according to a royal columnist.
In 2020 the couple signed a multi-year $100million (£78million) deal with the streaming giant to produce exciting new content, and although last year’s docuseries Harry and Meghan was one of Netflix’s biggest hits in 2022 Meghan’s animated series Pearl was cancelled amid a series of cutbacks. Their documentary Heart of Invictus is expected to be released in the platform next month.

A Netflix spokesperson denied the Sussexes were about to lose their deal, telling Entertainment Tonight: “The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry and Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date.
“Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon. We’re currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus”.
Writing in the Daily Mail Alison Boshoff claims the Duchess and her new agent Ari Emanuel are hoping to “connect her with the key creative talent she will need to make a success of a new career as a TV producer”.
She said: “Meghan and her team at Archewell will continue to try to get a green light on films and TV shows from Netflix, until the deal runs out in 2025. Sources at Netflix say Archewell have proposals in for scripted content ‘across the board’.
“In addition to the already reported Great Expectations-inspired spin-off, there are TV sitcoms and movie romcoms in the offing. Meghan is modelling herself on her old boss Bonnie Hammer, an executive at NBC who gave her her big break in Suits.”

Kate and William must intervene to prevent Louis suffering same ‘fate’ as Prince Harry
Princess Kate and Prince William must examine the family feud with Prince Harry if they want to avoid history repeating itself with Prince Louis, according to an expert.
As the youngest child of the heir to the throne the risk of Louis feeling “ostracised” and “less important” like his uncle Harry remains, but there are techniques his parents can use to help understand and prevent this outcome.
Sarah Hawkins, CEO at National Family Mediation (NFM), spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about how mediation and open communication will be key for the family to stop another rift.
She said: “Sadly, when families are facing conflict there is always the risk that history will repeat itself.
“In this situation it’s really important that the Royal Family gets together to discuss why Harry feels the way that he does, and what lessons can be learnt to prevent the same from happening in the future.
“Whether William and Charles believe Harry’s complaints are valid or not, he certainly feels ostracised and less important than his brother, and he feels that for a reason.”

Dressed in a smart blazer and check shirt, he fitted in perfectly with other spectators, all dressed for the occasion.

Prince Harry to ‘focus on passion projects’ as he ‘never liked’ celebrity life with Meghan
Prince Harry is not keen on living the celebrity life in Hollywood and would instead prefer to focus on his “passion projects”, according to an expert.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been living in California since 2020 and have been producing content for big entertainment brands such as Netflix and Spotify, however the Duke may soon be “planning to take a step back” to work on what really matters to him.
The Sussexes last month confirmed their deal with Spotify was over, however they still have various projects in the pipeline with Netflix, including their documentary Heart of Invictus scheduled for release next month.
Culture and brand expert Rochelle White told Mirror US that staying out of the spotlight and focusing on philanthropy is where Harry’s interests truly lie, as it is Meghan who is more comfortable with public attention.
She said: “I feel that this is pretty much on brand for him. Meghan is used to being in the public eye before she even got with Harry, and I feel that out of both of them, she is the one that everyone would want to speak to and work with.”

Body language expert Darren Stanton said the pair’s actions mirrored each other “perfectly” which showed “how real their connection is”.
Speaking to OK! magazine he said: “They couldn’t be any closer together. Kate’s hands are in the exact same position as William’s, and you can feel how happy they feel from looking at them together.
“Kate’s smile as William kissed her on the cheek was complete passion from her side.
“He makes her light up. The arm squeeze is also very telling of their relationship. You don’t let just anyone hug you or hold you like that. Hugs like that are from those who know you inside and out.”

John McEnroe’s savage rant about having to bow to royals who’d ‘done nothing’ at Wimbledon
The Wimbledon Championships 2023 officially got underway this week after much anticipation.
Many games on the tournament’s first day were suspended after a patch of bad weather — just days after the UK experienced its hottest June since records began.
Britain is guaranteed to have at least one homegrown star make their way through to the next round in the men’s singles after wildcard entrant Ryan Peniston was pitted against Andy Murray, the pair playing at 2:45 on Tuesday, 4 July.
Wimbledon wouldn’t be what it is without its stellar lineup of commentators, which in recent years has included the candid and forthright John McEnroe, the American former world No 1 who mopped up across several championships in the Seventies and Eighties.
Outspoken to the core, McEnroe made waves a few years ago after he took direct aim at the British Royal Family and its place at the historic championships.
