Piers Morgan asks if Prince Harry will be ‘interim King’
Prince Harry’s prompt choice to fly to London upon learning of King Charles’s cancer diagnosis underscores the gravity of the situation, it has been claimed. On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer, sending shock waves across the world.
The announcement came 10 days after his diagnosis of a benign enlarged prostate. He was diagnosed having undergone subsequent tests while he was receiving treatment at The London Clinic. It is not connected with his recent surgery and it is not prostate cancer.
The Duke of Sussex is set to depart California for Britain to join his father, following personal communication from King Charles regarding his cancer diagnosis.
However, Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie (four) and Lilibet (two), will remain in Los Angeles, according to a source close to the Duke.
Announcing that Prince Harry will come and see his father, the Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “The Duke did speak with his father about his diagnosis. He will be traveling to the UK to see His Majesty in the coming days.”
The decision will also raise hopes of a reconciliation within the royal family. The Duke of Sussex attended his father’s coronation last May, but left London just hours after the ceremony to return to Montecito.
