The 1-9 favourite Runaway Algo made a mockery of the opposition to land Saturday’s feature event, the Thunderbird Trophy for Open Allowance runners over 7 furlongs at Caymanas Park.

Runaway Algo who was saddled by Dale Murphy, closed out a triple on the 9-race card for jockey Raddesh Roman by going from gate to wire.

The 4 year old American-bred chestnut colt covered the distance in a minute, twenty-four-and-three fifths of a second to win going away by 14-and-a-quarter lengths.

Roman’s other winners on the 9-race card were I Am Interested at 6-1 in race number 5 and the 6-5 favourite Antartica in the 6th event.

Jockey Jerome Innis also had a good day, riding a double which he closed out aboard the 1-5 favourite Sabina in the 7th event.

Racing continues on Sunday with a 9-race card starting at 12:15 pm.
