Tollywood actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is once again in ‘the line of fire’ and slammed by Dr Cyriac Abby Philips aka The Liver Doc for allegedly playing “victim”. Earlier, the doctor slammed Sam for recommending hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Now, he has called her a “serial offender”.
Notably, on Friday morning, the Doctor took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and penned down a long note reacting to Samantha’s reaction to his original post.
In his post, he termed the ‘Oh! Baby’ actress’ claims about the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation “unscientific, pseudoscientific and baseless”.
His post read, “Please note, she is a serial offender in the context of healthcare misinformation and she has been in the line of fire previously too. The reason why doctors like me have to spend (waste) time from our busy schedules to fight misinformation online is because it is peddled by large influential “celebrity” accounts that have no regard for public health. Engagement and monetization is their concern.” (sic)
Further, he wrote that ‘public health and disease prevention’ is his prime motive and therefore he will continue to ‘strongly criticise, be blatant, and brutal’ to false claims.
He also asked Sam not to play “victim” and urged her to “unlearn and re-learn”.
Furthermore, his post read, “I expected better from someone who claims that she wants to “improve.” This is far from an improvement. A rational and logical response would be to delete the public health-endangering posts and apologize to her millions of followers and vouch to never quote or cite fraudulent practices or practitioners.” (sic)
For the unversed, a couple of days ago, Sam took to her Instagram stories when she recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Reacting to this, The Liver Doc called the Majili actress “health and science illiterate.” Further, he also mentioned that the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation ‘is dangerous for health’ and the actress should be jailed.
