The Government of Saskatchewan is working to counter an ongoing cyberattack, mirroring similar reports from other provinces.
“Saskatchewan, similar to what is being reported in other jurisdictions, is currently experiencing an online-based (distributed) denial of service (DDoS), which disrupts online servers, services or networks through a barrage of internet traffic aimed at crashing the system,” a government spokesperson said Thursday afternoon.

The main landing page for the government website, www.saskatchewan.ca, was still functioning by mid-afternoon but certain affiliated pages, like Saskatchewan Account and the Publication Centre, went dark around 5 a.m. Thursday.
The Canadian Press reports the main provincial website for Prince Edward Island had crashed in advance of a hurricane making landfall on Saturday. Some Government of Quebec websites were similarly affected on Wednesday.
