A two-week, seven-game road trip ended for the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night as they defeated host Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1.
After a scoreless first period, Saskatoon’s Easton Armstrong broke the seal with a goal 46 seconds into the second period to put his team up 1-0.

The Blades regained their one-point lead once again with 2:05 gone in the third period thanks to a goal from Egor Sidorov, and sealed their victory with an empty-net goal from Brandon Lisowsky with four seconds remaining in the game.
Austin Elliott stopped 27 of 28 shots in net for Saskatoon, while at the other end of the ice Harrison Meneghin made 30 saves on 32 shots for the Hurricanes.
The victory helps the Blades end their road trip on a high note after picking up four wins — including a three game-winning streak to cap it off — and three losses.
Saskatoon’s players will now get a bit of a break before returning to action on Dec. 8 when they host the Red Deer Rebels at SaskTel Centre in their first home game since Nov. 18.
The Blades are currently first in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference standings, with a 19-8-1-0 record for 39 points. The only team they trail in the league are the Prince George Cougars, who sit atop the Western Conference standings 40 points and a 20-7-0-0 record.
