Eco-friendly wine brand launches tools and experiences to educate and encourage a positive impact on the environment
Packaging is regularly cited as the top contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, often producing more emissions than grape cultivation and winemaking combined. Sixty Vines saves over 300,000 bottles, corks, and labels annually from landfills by serving wine in keg. By choosing wine on tap, guests contribute to a 96% reduction in CO2 footprint compared to bottled wine. Additionally, each steel keg saves 2,340 pounds of trash in its 30 year lifetime.
“We believe in Sixty Vines and the keg program because we are committed to reducing the footprint of our operation,” said Jason Haas, second generation proprietor at Tablas Creek Vineyard. “We have been putting wine in reusable stainless-steel kegs for more than 15 years. We love that you can get great wine that is always fresh and there is zero waste.”
For Earth Month, the brand is launching an online hub with insights about the positive environmental impact of wine on tap. On the ‘Sip Sustainably’ page, guests are encouraged to participate in a digital experience where they can calculate their carbon footprint and make an eco-friendly pledge to reduce emissions.
In addition, throughout April, guests can enjoy a curated wine flight featuring four pours from Sixty Vines’ winery partners most deeply committed to eco-conscious winemaking. The flight menu includes a QR link to videos from each winemaker for guests to discover the story behind the taps. The flight includes:
Cadre ‘Stone Blossom’ Sauvignon Blanc
Tablas Creek ‘Pateline De Tablas Blanc’ White Blend
Margerum M5 Red Blend
Stolpman ‘La Cuadrilla’ Red Blend
