Saudi Arabian football club Al-Ittihad have approached Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur, U.S. sports network ESPN said on Tuesday.

ESPN said, “Son has been offered a four-year contract worth 30 million euros per season,” and Al-Ittihad is prepared to pay a transfer fee of 60 million euros plus bonuses.

Son’s current annual salary is reportedly around W16 billion (US$1=W1,280).

Al-Ittihad is the current champion in the Saudi Professional League. The club signed Karim Benzema from Real Madrid early this month, reportedly promising him an annual salary of around W280 billion. It is also about to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kanté.

The club’s manager is Nuno Espírito Santo, a former manager of Tottenham who once coached Son.

It is very unlikely that Son will move to the Saudi club, however. He has barely made any response to the offer, and his contract with Tottenham doesn’t expire until June 2025.
