PARIS. – Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber was effusive in his praise of hardy and effervescent loose forward Pieter-Steph du Toit, who won the Player of the Match award in the 12-11 Rugby Rugby World Cup final win against New Zealand at the Stade de France on Saturday.

Revealing Du Toit’s nickname of the “Malmesbury Missile”, Nienaber said Du Toit embodied the collective fight and effort the Boks live by.

Of the 209 tackles the Boks made, Du Toit made 28, with 14 in each half, while Deon Fourie made 21 as the Boks put everything into their defence.
