The Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame announced a star-studded field of inductees for its 2024 class on Monday.
Super Bowl champion tight end Luke Willson will be inducted into the hall this fall along with former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford and offensive lineman Josh Bourke, who was a Grey Cup champion with the Montreal Alouettes.

The class also features Meghan Agosta, who was a three-time Olympic gold medallist with the Canadian women’s hockey team, basketball guard Miah-Marie Langlois, who went to the Olympics with Canada, and former Windsor Spitfires and NHLer Steve Ott.
The builders category will have three new additions in hockey’s Jerry Serviss, football’s Glen Mills and basketball’s Chantal Vallee.
Meanwhile, longtime teacher and coach Gerry Strong, who spent decades coaching wrestling and football, was named the Bob Turner Award winner for exceptional service in coaching and mentorship.
A Villanova high school product, Willson was a fifth-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and won a Super Bow in his rookie season. His eight-year NFL career included stops with the Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens.
A Catholic Central high school product, Crawford spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Cowboys, who took him in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He appeared in 112 carer games and finished with 25 sacks and 194 tackles. Due to a scheduling conflict, Crawford has asked to defer his induction until 2025.

Bourke was inducted into the Canadian Football League hall of fame in 2023. He spent 10 seasons in the CFL with nine of those with Montreal where he earned back-to-back Grey Cup titles in 2009 and 2010. He was named an all-star for seven-straight seasons and the league’s offensive lineman of the year in 2011.
A Ruthven native, Agosta won gold with the Canadian women’s hockey team at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games and a silver medal at the 2018 Olympic Games. She was named MVP in 2010 after scoring nine goals and 14 points in five games. She also represented Canada at eight world championships and won two gold medal. She retired earlier this year and sits sixth on Canada’s all-time scoring list with 85 goals and 176 points in 178 career games.
Another Catholic Central product, Langlois was the floor general for the University of Windsor Lancers and guided the team to four national university championships and earned three tournament MVP honours along the way. She helped Canada to gold at the 2015 Pan-American Games and FIBA Americas that same year before starting at point guard for Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Ott grew up in Stoney Point and was a second-round pick by the Spitfires in 1998 and helped Canada to a world junior bronze medal in 2001. The Dallas Stars made him a first-round pick in 2000 and he spent 15 years in the NHL with Dallas, Buffalo, St. Louis, Detroit and Montreal. Upon retirement in 2017, he became an assistant coach with St. Louis and won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2019.
Serviss coached the St. Clair College Saints hockey team to three conference titles and one national title.
Mills has been the driving force behind the Essex Ravens varsity football team since its inception in 1997.
Vallee helped turn around the women’s basketball program at the University of Windsor and won five straight national titles.
Along with the inductees, the Ravens will be honoured as the hall’s team of the year for its success. The induction ceremony is set for Oct. 5 at the Ciociaro Club.
