Parliamentary candidate hopeful for the Bekwai constituency in the Ashanti Region and lawyer in private practice, Ralph Poku-Adusei has stated that the impressive police presence witnessed in the Bekwai constituency and across the country during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries is evidence that the NPP has invested heavily in the security services in the country.
Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei made the observation in an interview with local journalists in the Bekwai constituency on Saturday, 4 November 2023, during a stopover to interact with delegates who were voting in the NPP presidential primaries.
“The NPP is the ruling party in Ghana now, and the government is responsible for the security of the state. The security presence you are seeing here today should point out to you that the government has invested heavily in the country’s security establishment, ” Ralph Poku-Adusei said.
“What you are seeing in the Bekwai constituency in terms of security is the same situation in all other constituencies all over the country. It is also evidence that during the 2024 elections, there will be tight security to ensure that the country does not witness any security breaches, ” he added.
Support for the primaries
During Mr Poku-Adusei’s visit, it became apparent that the 979 Bekwai delegates needed water to quench their thirst after several hours of enduring the scorching sun while the waited to cast their vote.
The Bekwai parliamentary candidate, hopeful in response to the obvious situation, organized and supplied the delegates with several hundreds of bottled water. Lawyer Ralph intervention received the praise and admiration of the delegates who were served.
