A man has been arrested after a girl was allegedly raped in a park in south Yorkshire. The teenager said she was with a group of friends in Eastwood Playing Fields, Rotherham, at about 9pm on Thursday.
The youngster alleged she was then attacked and raped by a man in the park in the Eastwood neighbourhood of the town, off Eldon Road and Hardwicke Road.
South Yorkshire Police had released a CCTV appeal for information.
The force said in a tweet on Saturday: “Officers investigating the reported rape of a teenage girl in Eastwood on Thursday have now made an arrest.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier CCTV appeal, it’s really appreciated!”
