(UPDATE) THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) got the highest approval (77 percent) and trust ratings (61 percent) among government agencies, the Pahayag End of Year survey showed.
Following Tesda was the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), with a 72 percent approval rating and 59 percent trust rating.
Conducted by Publicus Asia Inc. for the period of November 29 to December 4, the poll also noted the following as top performers: Department of Science and Technology (69 percent), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (68 percent), Commission on Higher Education (67 percent), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (66 percent).
The Department of Education and the Department of Health both got 64 percent, while the Civil Service Commission and the Department of Foreign Affairs secured approval ratings of 63 percent and 61 percent, respectively.
“Examining the notable gainers, the Supreme Court witnesses a substantial improvement, driven by increased support from various demographics, including the National Capital Region, individuals ages 18-24, middle-income groups, Catholics, non-OFW (overseas Filipino worker) families, and college graduates,” Publicus Asia said in a statement on Sunday, December 17.

“Similarly, the AFP and the Philippine National Police experienced broad-based approval gains across socio-demographic segments, particularly benefiting from increased support among residents of special land (SL) areas,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture had an overall approval increase, likely due to the recent appointment of Francisco Tiu Laurel as DA head.
The end-of-year survey done by Publicus Asia used a purposive sampling of 1,500 respondents randomly drawn from the market research panel of over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with a multinational presence.
