Is China trying to cheat India at the Asian Games?

However, a controversy emerged during the men’s javelin final after Chopra’s initial throw. Due to an unexplained technical glitch, the officials were unable to record his throw, necessitating him to make another attempt. Chopra was observed engaging with the officials in an attempt to ascertain the precise distance of his throw, which appeared to be a massive one (around 86-88m). Regrettably, the distance could not be officially documented, and Chopra was required to make a second attempt.

Anju Bobby George, the Senior Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India, voiced concerns about the issue following the event in which Chopra clinched the gold medal and Jena secured the silver. She alleged that China engaged in “cheating” and suggested that they were aware that winning in Hangzhou would be difficult due to such incidents.

“I think it’s a calculative move. I think they’re trying to cheat us. Neeraj is an Olympic champion that’s why he threw. We knew winning in China would be difficult because they do all these mischiefs,” Anju Bobby George said after the event on Wednesday.
