A farmer who was wanted in Trelawny was arrested and charged with rape and sexual touching of a child following two incidents in Wilson Valley in the parish between 2021 and 2022.
Charged is 38-year-old Byran Larmond, also of Wilson Valley district.
Reports are that Larmond allegedly, raped and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in his community on two separate occasions. The first incident occurred in November 2021, where Larmond reportedly pulled the child behind an unfinished building whilst she was walking along the roadway; he assaulted and raped her. Almost a year later, he allegedly pulled her from her house and again assaulted her.
A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched.
On Monday, July 24, Larmond turned himself in to the police; a warrant was executed on him on Wednesday, July 26.
His court date is being arranged.
