Tributes as Omole’s daughter passes on at 40

It was a somber moment of deep reflection yesterday at the service of songs in honour of Mrs. Titilade Agboola, youngest daughter of the Chairman, Editorial Board of The Guardian, Prof. Wale Omole, who died on October 24, after a brief illness.…CONTINUE READING

The service, held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Ogudu, Lagos, where she worshipped before her demise, was attended by a large number of family members, friends and associates.

Brother of the deceased, Tolu Omole, described Titi as someone who was full of life and had lots of good in her heart.

“It’s difficult to speak of her in past tense but the reality is that she has gone to rest. No words to describe someone who had a lot to live for and left so early, but I know as humans, we always want more.
“We bow to the will of the Almighty God. He has called her according to His plans and design. Even though we are not ready for it, my dear sister, go and rest till we meet again.”

Titilade, who was a member of Daughter of Life (DoR), a society in the Anglican Church, was extolled as being cheerful, loving and humble.

A member of DoR in her testimony, Mrs Ogochukwu Jones, said Titi was supportive and strong in faith during her lifetime.
“She was a member of the choir and DoR. On several occasions, when we have an event, she was very supportive. We thank God for her faith. We believe she went home to rest.

Speaking on behalf of the church, Bukunola Adenuga said: “It’s a pity that she was called to glory at this time of her age but we know she has gone to rest. Her death is a shock. She was a cheerful giver.”

In his exhortation, titled: ‘Don’t be ignorant,’ Rev. Gabriel Oriowo said the church of Jesus Christ, in two fold, comprises the church triumphant and the church militant.

“We that are on the part of eternity, we are the church militant. We are still fighting, we are fighting sin, devil, situations and circumstances of life and I pray that we will overcome.

“But, our sister, she has joined the saint triumphant. She is looking at us now and saying, ‘you too will come,’ but make sure you have eternal life, because that is what is important. Every preaching or exhortation is no longer for her, its now for us.”
