Two persons were killed and a woman was critically injured when a Hyva truck hit a bike near Suruguda under Lephipada police limits in Sungargarh on Thursday evening.
However, the identities of the deceased and the injured have not been ascertained as per initial reports.
As per reports, three persons hailing from Sargipalli Lokadega area were going on a bike to Darlidhipa. It was stated that the three were going to their relative’s house.
As they reached Suruguda, the heavy vehicle hit them, leaving two of them dead on the spot.
Locals rescued the injured woman and rushed her to the district headquarters hospital.
Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the incident. The vehicles involved in the accident have been seized.
However, no comments from police were received.
