Report by RJRGLEANER Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington
In an unprecedented occurence, two of the 10 races on Saturday’s programme at Caymanas Park were abandoned due to a breach of the racing rules.
Races 1 and 6 were abandoned due to what chief steward Antione Nembhard said was a violation of the recently – implemented JRC rule where no race shall go off later than 5 minutes after the advertised post time without the permission of the stewards.
Meanwhile, the 4-5 favourite Rhythm Buzz under champion jockey Reyan Lewis for trainer Vincent Atkinson, scored a convincing victory in the feature event, the Legal Light Trophy for Open Allowance runners over 9 furlongs and 25 yards.
Champion trainer Jason DaCosta saddled three winners, while leading jockey Tevin Foster had a double. Racing continues on Sunday with a 10 race card starting at noon.
