There’s just one event left on the UFC’s 2023 schedule after UFC Fight Night 233 came to a conclusion on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
An underwhelming lineup fell in the shadow of UFC 296 this weekend, and the main event wasn’t particularly memorable as Song Yadong (21-7-1 MMA, 10-2-1 UFC) proved to be too much for Chris Gutierrez (20-6-2 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) in their bantamweight matchup en route to a unanimous decision win.

Song Yadong def. Chris Gutierrez
Song improved to 8-2-1 since he dropped to the UFC bantamweight division.
Song has earned nine of his 20 career victories by decision.
Gutierrez fell to 6-3-1 in UFC bantamweight competition.
Gutierrez has suffered five of his six career losses by decision.
Khalil Rountree def. Anthony Smith
Rountree’s (13-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) five-fight UFC winning streak at light heavyweight is tied with Carlos Ulberg for the longest active streak in the division.
Rountree’s seven knockout victories in UFC light heavyweight competition are third-most in divisional history behind Chuck Liddell (nine) and Mauricio Rua (eight).
Rountree’s 13 knockdowns landed in UFC light heavyweight competition are third-most in divisional history behind Liddell (14) and Rua (14).
Anthony Smith (37-19 MMA, 12-9 UFC) fell to 8-6 since he moved up to the UFC light-heavyweight division in June 2018.
Smith has suffered 15 of his 19 career losses by stoppage.
Nasrat Haqparast def. Jamie Mullarkey
Haqparast (16-5 MMA, 8-4 UFC) has earned 10 of his 16 career victories by stoppage. He’s finished all of those wins by knockout.
Jamie Mullarkey (17-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) has suffered five of his seven career losses by stoppage. He’s been finished by knockout in all of those defeats.
Tim Elliott def. Su Mudaerji
Elliott (20-14-1 MMA, 9-11 UFC) improved to 7-7 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in December 2016.
Elliott has earned both of his UFC stoppage victories by submission.
Su Mudaerji (16-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) has suffered all six of his career losses by stoppage. He’s been submitted in five of those defeats.
Andre Muniz def. Junyong Park
Junyong Park (17-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) suffered his first decision loss since Oct. 24, 2015 – a span of more than eight years and 18 fights.
Sung Hyun Park def. Shannon Ross
Park (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned seven of his nine career victories by stoppage.
Shannon Ross’ (12-9 MMA, 0-3 UFC) four-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since November 20202.
Ross has suffered all three of his UFC losses by knockout.
Steve Garcia def. Melquizael Costa
Steve Garcia (15-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has earned all 12 of his career stoppage victories by knockout. That includes all four of his UFC wins.
Melquizael Costa (20-7 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered both of his UFC losses by stoppage.
Tatsuro Taira def. Carlos Hernandez
Tatsuro Taira’s (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) four-fight UFC winning streak at flyweight is tied for the second-longest active streak in the division behind Muhammad Mokaev (five).
Taira has earned 11 of his 15 career victories by stoppage.
Carlos Hernandez (8-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered two of his three career losses by stoppage
Hernandez suffered the first knockout loss of his career.
