VSSUT Associate Professor terminated from job over misconduct

An associate professor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla was terminated from service over allegations of misconduct.

The professor, Siba Prasad Panigrahi, was working in the Electrical Engineering department of the University.

He was terminated on charges of abusing University authorities using unparliamentary language on social media.

The University Management Board met to discuss the issue and after some deliberations, Panigrahi was removed from the job.

It is pertinent to mention here that he was earlier suspended for two years for the same issue. Moreover, Panigrahi was also reportedly removed from the job at the educational institute he was working at before joining VSSUT.

Established in 1956, University College of Engineering (UCE), Burla was turned into Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in July 2009.

Admissions to various B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes are done from the merit list published by JEE Main. Admission to various M.Tech. , M.Sc. and M.Phil programmes offered are conducted by the University.

However, the students to B.Tech (LE) as well as MCA Programme get admitted through the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) conducted by Government of Odisha.
