When a group of local farmers decided to play tug-of-war with a python in man-made pond, they thought they had it all figured out.

Little did they know, they were in for a wild ride that would leave them tangled up and laughing for days.
According to a report by Lowvelder Media, Ian Smit posted the video on his Facebook page on Sunday, and it has had more than 2.4 million views.

In the video, a brave farmer pokes around the pond while his buddies eagerly watch. But as the python’s tail emerges, it’s game on.
With a hearty “gryp kêrels (pull gents),” they all dive in literally.
Things worsen as they heave and ho, attempting to yank the python.
Suddenly, the python decides it’s had enough of their antics and makes a daring leap at the unsuspecting crew.

Chaos ensues, with limbs flying and mates tumbling like dominos – all to the delight of viewers worldwide!
In a follow-up post, Smith reassures concerned followers that they had no intentions of harming the python.

The residents of a farmhouse in Port Edward called out South Coast’s snake catcher, Sarel van der Merwe, to rescue a Southern African rock python that had taken up residence in their kitchen.
Van der Merwe stated that the house’s owner breeds Yorkshire Terriers, and this is the fourth Python found inside her house.
A PYTHON PREVIOUSLY GOT AWAY WITH ONE OF THE YORKIES
Last season, a python got away with one of the Yorkies.
Sarel was accompanied by his neighbour, AJ Pretorious. He helped capture the lengthy snake wedged between the washing machine and the kitchen wall.
He released the snake in the Mpenjati Nature Reserve, saying it measured 4.8m and weighed 24kg.
