Our marriage is only nine months old. We dated for four years before finally getting married. During those four years of dating, he was very interested in intimacy. He desired it, and I had no reason to refuse him, so I willingly engaged in it whenever he wanted. While I don’t believe that intimacy alone is what kept us together, its importance cannot be overlooked.
Our time together during dating was enjoyable, and I assumed it would improve when we got married.
After arguments, it had a way of bringing us back together. There was always a different dynamic after a fight— he would give his all, and I would reciprocate, making it seem like it was the only thing we needed in our lives.
However, our honeymoon turned out to be a disaster. I was too exhausted to care, and he was too tired to desire intimacy. Nonetheless, we made an effort, although the experience was unsatisfying. We returned from our honeymoon feeling rejuvenated.
