The West Indies ‘A’ will have to come from behind if they are to win their 5-match Twenty20 series against Nepal after the home team took a 1-0 lead following a 4 wicket victory in a high-scoring game in Kirtipur on Saturday.
Batting first, the West Indies ‘A’ posted 204-5 from their 20 overs with captain Roston Chase leading the way with 74 from 46 deliveries. Alick Athanaze weighed in with 47, while Keacy Carty made 38. Nepal had four bowlers who picked up a wicket each.
With 206 to get for victory, Nepal got to their target with two deliveries to spare. Captain Rohit Paudel led the way with 112 from just 54 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes.
he got support from Dipendra Singh who made 24. Matthew Forde had 2-49, while Obed McCoy picked up 2-34 for the West Indies ‘A’.
The second game in the series will be played on Sunday morning Jamaica time.
