JOHANNESBURG – The clock is counting down a deadline for parliament to convene to elect a president and speaker of the chamber.
This while coalition talks are taking place.
Political parties are under pressure to get this done and elect MPs to the national assembly.
We spoke to Ray Hartley, Research Director of the Brenthurst Foundation.
He’s argued before that coalitions can help guide the country towards a positive future if they drew on the strengths of various political parties.
