Who was the late Jacob Juma?

The ongoing debate about dialogue and his alleged ousting by the Gen Z’s concerning the high tax levels may have opened up a secret box that had remained with the late Jacob Juma.

The late Juma first came into the political world in 1992 during Moi’s tenure and this is where he met Ruto and got to know him better.

The young leader led by Cyrus Jirongo formed a team that would rally the youths to support Moi, the team was called YK92.

The youthful Jacob Juma, As a close associate of Jirongo benefited from deals in politics making him a young wealthy man.

The late businessman had built a mansion in Karen estate whereby he named the home after his village and acquired top high-end vehicles.

During the regime of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Jacob Juma began facing a lot of illegalities coming from that government that wanted to oppress him business-wise.

The tycoon, who was not shaken by intimidation and threats from the government felt deeply betrayed by people he considered as close friends and decided to become a whistleblower of the corruption-infected regime.

Juma, who started exposing the alleged corruption cases concerning parcels of land and taxpayers’ money even went on to court in a bid to seek justice for the public assets.

As soon as he finished exposing Ruto he went on to attack other politicians like Najib Balala and even Evans Kidero who was the Nairobi government.

This built a lot of heat from the exposed individuals whereby Juma’s murder was being organized. Surprisingly, the tycoon exposed the allegations and posted all the details of the person who wanted him dead.

On 6 May 2016, the body of Kenyan businessman Jacob Juma was found lying in a pool of blood on Ngong Road in Nairobi.

Juma had been a tireless crusader against corruption and a close ally of many politicians in the opposition.
