The first World Odia Language Conference underway at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar has been extended for three more days. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced this on Monday.
The three-day-long first-of-its-kind festival based on the Odia language kick-started at Janata Maidan on February 3. The Chief Minister had inaugurated the event.
The conference was scheduled to conclude on Monday. But, the Chief Minister extended it for three more days. He also announced that the conference would be organised once in every five years.

“This conference will remain a landmark. From here onwards, this festival will be held once in every five years. The Assembly session is underway. I will announce our decision regarding the language in the Assembly. I am announcing that keeping people’s demands in view, the conference has been extended for three more days,” announced Patnaik.
This conference has witnessed a congregation of linguists, litterateurs, poets, writers, and students from across the state. During the conference, special focus is being given to how youths can be encouraged to use Odia language more.
