Wausau’s Children’s Imaginarium Celebrates Halloween with Science and Creativity
In Wausau, Wisconsin, the Children’s Imaginarium provided a platform for children to express their creativity by dressing in imaginative costumes while exploring the wonders of science.
An Engaging Scientific Theme
The event highlighted the theme of “strange science,” focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities that seamlessly blended fun with Halloween spirit.
Hands-On Learning Experiences
“In our STEM laboratory, we are utilizing dry ice as part of our lessons on carbon dioxide. Additionally, we have prepared nutritious science-themed snacks for the children,” remarked Julie Bollmann, executive director at Children’s Imaginarium.

This initiative was generously sponsored by First Impressions Pediatric Dentistry. One organizer expressed their commitment to serving the community through such events.

“From our perspective, this has been an excellent success. It’s delightful to see so many kids come in dressed in a variety of costumes. Their joy is infectious,” stated Rylee Denhel, a dentist associated with First Impressions Pediatric Dentistry. “We are thrilled about this turnout and hope it becomes anannual tradition.”
A New Tradition Begins
This marks the inaugural year for a Halloween-themed scientific celebration at the Children’s Imaginarium since its opening approximately ten months ago in Wausau. Bollmann expressed her aspirations that such events will pave the way for more engaging activities tailored for young audiences in the future.
