The Voyager spacecraft has been traversing space since 1977, propelled by diminishing plutonium chunks that generate declining energy as the years go by. With four remaining science instruments analyzing regions outside our heliosphere – including magnetometers, charged particle detectors, cosmic ray analyzers, and plasma wave detectors - both Voyagers continue their remarkable journey into interstellar space.
