Onome Ebi, 40, will be making a record sixth World Cup appearance in Australia and New Zealand following her debut appearance in the 2003 edition of the tournament.
Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi is relishing her sixth appearance at the Women’s World Cup, Soccernet.ng reports
The 40-year-old is part of the squad that will represent Nigeria at this year’s edition of the tournament following her first appearance 20 years ago in the USA.
Ebi, who had previously in the 2019 edition became the first African player to play in five FIFA World Cup tournaments, will be making more history in Australia and New Zealand alongside Japan’s Homare Sawa and Brazil legend Marta as the only three players to have participated in six Women’s World Cups. Only Formiga who played for Brazil has more with 7 appearances.
To celebrate her new historical feat, Ebi took to Twitter to share the accomplishment with her fans

The former Bayelsa Queen star has 3 goals in 107 appearances for the Super Falcons of Nigeria in a career that spanned over two decades and four African Women’s Championship titles.
She was awarded the IFFHS CAF Woman Team of the Decade between 2011 and 2020.
