The United States Men’s National Team has a decided edge in the all-time series against Panama heading into the Gold Cup semifinal match on Wednesday in San Diego (broadcast on FS1 and FOX Sports App).

Los Canaleros advanced by beating Qatar 4-0 in the quarterfinals behind a hat trick from Ismael Diaz. Panama won Group C by winning two matches and playing to a draw in group play. Diaz has four goals and one assist for Panama in the Gold Cup.

The USMNT was the winner of Group A over Jamaica based on goal differential. Both teams had two wins and a draw in group play. The Americans beat Canada on penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw in the quarterfinals. Goalkeeper Matt Turner made two saves on penalties.

The USMNT has a record of 18 wins, three losses and four draws against Panama dating back to 1993. USMNT’s Jesus Ferreira, a forward for FC Dallas, leads the Gold Cup with six goals.

The U.S. kept another first half clean sheet versus Canada — that’s 22 of the last 23 Gold Cup matches without conceding in the first half.
