John Cena, one of pro wrestling’s most prolific champions, is considered one of the greatest ever to lace up a pair of wrestling boots. In his career, which is over 21 years long and ongoing, Cena has won 16 world championships in WWE, a feat he shares with Nature Boy Ric Flair. There’s no doubt that the 46-year-old possesses an enviable resume. He undoubtedly finds himself in the proverbial Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling on many people’s lists, including his past and present co-workers. But not everyone seems to have the same opinion about Cena’s success.
America’s Favorite Video Today
Grayson Waller, an upcoming star, is one of them. The Australian had a one-word review that encompassed Cena’s iconic career. He also dragged an NFL legend into the mix while taking a jibe online.
What did Grayson Waller say about John Cena?

Waller, who made his main roster debut a few months ago, has gained acclaim as the host of his talk show The Grayson Waller Effect. On the September 15 episode of SmackDown, Cena was the guest. Waller, as always, berated his guest, but this time he also made a reference to a recent development in the state of Colorado, where the recent episode of SmackDown aired. While pointing out several of John Cena’s flaws, Waller said: “When I talk to grown-ups, I take off my hat like my mother taught me.“

Uploading that part of their segment on X, WWE captioned it as: “That was a prime insult there,” alluding to Coach Prime Deion Sanders. In case you’re confused, here’s what happened. Earlier this week, Colorado State University football head coach Jay Norvell had used a nearly similar line to criticize Sanders, who is the head football coach at the University of Colorado Boulder, ahead of their teams’ clash on Saturday.
Reacting to the video uploaded by WWE, the 33-year-old deemed both Cena and Sanders were “overrated”. While the barb at John Cena is understandable, Waller’s poke at the winner of consecutive Super Bowl- XXIX, XXX- was unprovoked.
However, Cena and Sanders were not the only ones who faced the Aussie’s barbs. Another WWE icon also fell prey to the Grayson Waller ‘rub’.
Grayson Waller has a major complaint about 8-time WWE Champion
The recent episode of the blue brand will remain in the memories of the WWE Universe for a long time. While John Cena attended it, it also saw the return of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The Great One returned to WWE programming after nearly four years. He last took center stage during his 2019 appearance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SmackDown.

From the deafening roars of the spectators at the Ball Arena to excitement from people backstage, Johnson’s return was truly magical. But then, there’s Grayson Waller, who wasn’t satisfied.

The former NXT star had a brief online feud with The Brahma Bull a few months ago. He obviously wanted a face-to-face interaction with the 51-year-old, but was denied. Waller complained that despite scouring the arena for Johnson, he wasn’t there.
Ironically, Waller hailed Cena as the greatest of all time to take another shot at Johnson. Meanwhile, with Dwayne Johnson coming back, amidst admission that he’s open to fighting Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, fans are likely to see The People’s Champion gracing these events more often.
