Air Force vs. San Jose State odds, line, spread, time: 2023 picks, Week 4 predictions by proven model
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Air Force Falcons bring their devastating rushing attack to Northern California on Friday when they face the San Jose State Spartans in a Mountain West Conference matchup at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose. The Falcons (3-0, 1-0 in MWC) lead the country in rushing yards per game (320.7) and are tied for third in rushing touchdowns (11). Last week Air Force outrushed Utah State, 344-54, the 13th straight time the Falcons have outrushed their opponent. Meanwhile the Spartans (1-3) will counter with quarterback Chevan Cordeiro, the Mountain West Offensive Preseason Player of the Year.

Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. The Falcons are 6-point favorites in the latest Air Force vs. San Jose State odds via SportsLine consensus, while the over/under for total points scored is 45.5. Before locking in any San Jose State vs. Air Force picks, you need to see the college football predictions and betting advice from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $2,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed the model has seen huge returns.

Now, the model has set its sights on Air Force vs. San Jose State and just revealed its picks and predictions. You can visit SportsLine now to see the model’s CFB picks. Here are several college football odds and trends for SJSU vs. Air Force:

Air Force vs. San Jose State spread: Air Force -6Air Force vs. San Jose State over/under: 45.5 pointsAir Force vs. San Jose State money line: Air Force -236, SJSU +191AFA: Falcons lead the nation in rushing offense (320.7)SJS: Spartans rank fifth in the country in punt return average (20.75)Air Force vs. San Jose State picks: See picks at SportsLine Air Force vs. San Jose State live stream: fubo (try for free)

Why Air Force can cover

Zac Larrier has been solid in his first season as the starting quarterback. A 6-foot senior from Youngstown, Ohio, Larrier ranks second on the team in rushing (220 yards on 43 carries). He also has scored a team-best three touchdowns and has hit 6-of-10 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown. If he had enough attempts to qualify, his quarterback efficiency rating (255.1) would lead the country.

In addition, Air Force has proven it can win away from Colorado Springs. The Falcons have won five straight games away from home overall and two straight in true road games dating back to last season. That run includes a victory over a Power 5 team, Baylor, in last season’s Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth. See which team to pick here.

Why San Jose State can cover

San Jose State has been tough when playing at home recently. In their last eight home games at CEFCU Stadium, the Spartans are 7-1, outscoring opponents, 261-133. The only loss over that stretch was a 42-17 loss to No. 18 Oregon State earlier this season.

In addition, San Jose State faces an Air Force offense that is not a threat to throw the ball. The Falcons rank last in all of the FBS in passing yards per game (64.3). They have attempted just 10 passes all season, completing six. Two weeks ago against Sam Houston State, San Jose State went 1-of-3 passing for 14 yards. See which team to pick here.

How to make Air Force vs. San Jose State picks

SportsLine’s model is leaning Under on the point total, projecting the teams to combine for 43 points. The model also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations.  You can see the model’s picks at SportsLine.

So who wins San Jose State vs. Air Force, and which side of the spread hits well over 50% of the time? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of the spread you need to jump on, all from the model that has notched a profit of almost $2,500 on its top-rated college football spread picks, and find out.
