Miami T100 runner-up Sam Long will look to continue his early season success next month, as the 28-year-old plans an audacious double header that will see him race on two continents in the span of just one week.

Ready to compete for the win at both IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside and Singapore T100, Long said that this type of challenge was what excited him the most about racing.

Chasing more silverware after a brilliant start to the season, Long will look to extend his four race podium streak against some world class competition in both California and South East Asia.

“I’ve always done well on back-to-back weekends”

After picking up five podiums in 2023, Long has already managed two this season, with a win at IRONMAN 70.3 Pucon and a second place finish earlier this month behind Magnus Ditlev in Miami.

Explaining his decision to get back on the race course so soon, the American said that he has performed well in the past racing so frequently and enjoys the added pressure.

“I’m excited for this big double race block coming up. I’ve always done well on back to back weekends and love the planning involved (maybe that’s why I love being a Dad too?). It ups the ante having both!”

“I am hungry for Oceanside”

Having raced both Oceanside and Singapore last season, Long has two clear markers to surpass next month, after finishing seventh and fifth respectively last year.

Racing in SoCal for the fifth time, the Boulder native said that he is “hungry” for the race, having never finished on the podium at one of North America’s most iconic middle distance events.

“I am hungry for Oceanside, I love this iconic race and I wanted to go with the family. Singapore is a fantastic city, with great fans, and an important stop in the quest of the T100 world title.”

IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside will take place on Saturday, April 6. One week later, the second round of the T100 Triathlon World Tour will take place in Singapore on April 13-14.
