We’re at the portion of the fantasy football season where guys you’ve never heard of are breaking out (Keaton Mitchell), guys you’ve already cut once this year are resurfacing (Tank Dell), and guys you’ve been thinking about picking up for weeks are still just hanging out, waiting for someone to love them (Royce Freeman). Throw in some bye-week streamers (and real-life streamer Josh Dobbs), and you have our top Week 9 fantasy waiver wire pickups and free agent adds.
Our full waivers list features an interesting mix of potential short-term and long-term contributors, but outside of someone like Dell, there aren’t a lot of “sure things.” Guys like Devin Singletary, Demario Douglas, and Noah Brown could prove useful in all fantasy leagues, but most owners are looking for immediate help, which none of these players can guarantee. Our Week 10 streamer suggestions at QB, TE, and D/ST, which can be found at the end of the list, will likely have bigger impacts on next week’s fantasy matchups.
That said, we rarely recommend using a high waiver claim on a streamer, at least at this point in the season. There are still some starting RB injuries yet to come, and you’ll want your high claims for when that happens. You can make a case for Dell or Singletary if they’re available in your leagues, but chances are, those leagues are shallow enough that you don’t “need” to pick up those players. And as much as we like Mitchell’s upside, it’s tough to recommend using a high claim (or any claim) on him given his situation.

Given Week 10’s killer set of byes (Eagles, Dolphins, Chiefs, Rams), this will once again be a busy add/drop period, but don’t get caught up using your waiver claims on mediocre/short-term contributors if there are comparable options at the position you need.
Top fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 10
Unless otherwise noted, only players owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues are considered.
Keaton Mitchell, RB, Ravens. Dynasty owners and deep leaguers have been waiting for Mitchell to get opportunities for a while, and that finally happened in Week 9. The speedy rookie finished with 138 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries despite serving as the Ravens’ No. 3 back. Most of his production came on a 40-yard TD run at the end of the third quarter and a 60-yard scamper in the fourth, but Mitchell was receiving carries before garbage time. Ultimately, it’s tough to gauge his long-term value, as Gus Edwards is still the lead back and Justice Hill played ahead of him, too, but Mitchell is worth stashing for the stretch run in 12-team leagues. He could be a league-winner if he gets more opportunities if either Edwards or Hill gets hurt.
Tank Dell, WR, Texans. Dell has been quiet since Week 3 — so much so that he dropped to just 47-percent owned in Yahoo leagues. He reminded everyone of his immense talent against Tampa, catching six-of-11 targets for 114 yards and two TDs. He added another two yards on two carries. Houston’s passing offense is clicking on all cylinders, and Dell is always going to be a big part of it. Grab him now if he’s available, and play him as a high-ceiling flex in a potential shootout in Cincinnati.
WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Devin Singletary, RB, Texans. Singletary functioned as Houston’s lead back in Week 9 with Dameon Pierce (ankle) out. He struggled in a tough matchup against Tampa’s top-five run defense, posting just 26 rushing yards on 13 carries, but we’re more concerned with the 15 total touches. As long as Pierce is out, Singletary will have flex upside, including next week at Cincinnati. At the very least, Singletary should be owned in much more than 51 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Josh Dobbs, QB, Vikings. At the beginning of the week, Dobbs was getting benched for Clayton Tune. By the end of the week, he was throwing for 158 yards and two TDs while adding another 66 yards and a TD on the ground. Can you really trust him as your QB1 every week? Probably not. We learned that from his time in Arizona, but in favorable matchups, Dobbs can produce (which we also learned from his time in Arizona). Tyson Bagent just put up solid passing and rushing numbers against the Saints, so Dobbs can work if you’re hurting at QB next week.
WEEK 10 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Royce Freeman, RB, Rams. For the third-straight game, Freeman out-rushed Darrell Henderson Jr. (32 to 19), and he actually received two more carries in Week 9 (12 to 10). The results weren’t impressive despite a favorable matchup, but Freeman is every bit Henderson’s equal in L.A.’s rushing game. Kyren Williams (ankle) is eligible to return in Week 12 and the Rams have a Week 10 bye, so Freeman might only be useful for one more game, but he’s still worth stashing if you’re going to need RB help in Week 11.
Cade Otton, TE, Buccaneers. Otton took advantage of a favorable matchup against the Texans, catching six-of-nine targets for 70 yards and two TDs. He’s now had at least six targets in three straight games, putting him on the radar in PPR leagues. Otton is best suited as a streamer, but he could be playable next week against Tennessee in deep leagues.
Noah Brown, WR, Texans. Is Brown a one-week wonder? Maybe, but after six catches, 157 yards, and a TD against the Bucs, we have to give him some love. He’s seen at least five targets in three-straight games, so as long as Robert Woods (foot) is out, Brown has flex potential in deep leagues.
Demario Douglas & JuJu Smith-Schuster, WRs, Patriots. With Kendrick Bourne (knee) on IR, Douglas and Smith-Schuster tied for the team lead with seven targets in Week 9. Douglas hauled in five for 55 yards, while JuJu managed six catches for 51 yards. It’s possible DeVante Parker (concussion) returns next week and leads the team in catches, but at this point, Douglas and Smith-Schuster deserve adds in 12-team PPR leagues. A favorable matchup next week against the Colts puts both in play as low-end flexes.
Pat Freiermuth, TE, Steelers. Freiermuth (hamstring) is eligible to come off the IR in Week 11, so if you have the space, now’s the time to stash him. He hasn’t done much this year, but he remains a key part of Pittsburgh’s offense. Given the state of the TE position, you could do a lot worse with an end-of-bench lotto ticket.
Top fantasy QB streamers for Week 10
Taylor Heinicke, Falcons @ Cardinals. Heinicke has shown a high ceiling at times, and just six teams entered last week allowing more fantasy points per game (FPPG) to QBs than Arizona. You’re not going to feel safe playing Heinicke, but he’s capable of a “boom” week that helps ease the loss of Patrick Mahomes, Tua Tagovailoa, or Jalen Hurts.
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers vs. Titans. Tennessee has shored up its pass defense a bit, but Mayfield has shown the ability to produce in neutral matchups. He rarely has huge games, but Mayfield should have a solid floor against the Titans.
Bryce Young, Panthers @ Bears. You’re never going to feel great about starting a so-so rookie on Thursday night — on the road, no less — but the Bears allow the third-most FPPG to QBs. Young has shown flashes in the past couple of weeks, and he should be able to get you 200 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, and a TD or two.
Will Levis, Titans @ Buccaneers. Levis came back to Earth last week after his four-TD debut, but with extra time to prepare, he has a decent floor and ceiling against a Bucs’ defense that entered last week allowing the 10th-most FPPG to QBs before getting blown up by C.J. Stroud.
Top fantasy TE streamers for Week 10
Gerald Everett, Chargers vs. Lions. The Chargers have been throwing to their TEs more with Mike Williams (knee) out, and Everett has shown he can exploit favorable matchups. Entering last week, Detroit was allowing the third-most FPPG to TEs, making Everett the top streamer of the week.
Hunter Henry, Patriots vs. Colts. Henry got back in the paint in a favorable matchup last week, and he’ll face a similar matchup in Germany this week. Consistency is a constant struggle for Henry, but he’s worth a shot if you’re in a bind, at least in standard leagues.
Michael Mayer, Raiders vs. Jets. Mayer has only had a couple of decent games this year, but he seems on the verge of a breakout. Only a handful of defenses allow more FPPG to TEs than the Jets, so Mayer is worth considering. At the very least, he’s better than some other available TEs in favorable matchups, such as Hayden Hurst (@ Bears) and Noah Fant (vs. Commanders).
Top fantasy defense streamers for Week 10
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Jets. In Weeks 5-8, Vegas racked up nine sacks, seven takeaways, and a defensive TD. They can keep it going against Zach Wilson and the Jets, who entered last week allowing the eighth-most FPPG to D/STs.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Commanders. No one allows more sacks than the Commanders, and Seattle entered last week tied for fifth in QB takedowns. This is an easy call for one of the top streamers of the week despite how bad the Seahawks looked in Baltimore last week.
Carolina Panthers @ Bears. Justin Fields (thumb) might return, but the Bears were one of the most generous teams to fantasy D/STs even while he was under center (24 sacks, six INTs, four fumbles). Carolina isn’t great, but it has the playmakers to pay off as a boom-or-bust stream.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Patriots. The Pats allow the second-most FPPG to D/STs, and a trip to Germany doesn’t figure to help. Indianapolis can take advantage in what figures to be an ugly game.
Atlanta Falcons @ Cardinals. Kyler Murray (knee) is expected to make his first start of the season, but we expect him to be rusty and likely mistake-prone behind Arizona’s suspect offensive line. The Falcons aren’t a great D/ST, but they’re good enough to take advantage.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Titans. Will Levis hasn’t made many mistakes in his first two games, but we’ll gladly stream a solid defense at home against an inexperienced QB. The Bucs can’t go roasted by a rookie QB twice in a row…can they?
