The international BMC Pro Triathlon Team announced its 2024 team with three new athletes: French triathlete Clement Mignon and British triathletes Lucy Byram and Sam Dickinson. The BMC Pro Triathlon Team will continue to consist of seven triathletes in 2024, which automatically means three triathletes will leave the team as well. For Spanish triathlete Pablo Gonzalez Dapena and Swede Patrik Nilsson, it was clear already that there would be no more space for them. Australian Max Neumann is also leaving the BMC Pro Triathlon Team.
With Clement Mignon, the BMC Pro Triathlon Team brings in an absolute winner. He won this year’s Ironman Nice, finished 10th at the Ironman World Championships in Nice and became World Triathlon World Champion Long Distance at Ibiza. With Britons Lucy Byram and Samuel Dickinson, the team is clearly aiming for the future. Lucy Byram is only 24 and in her third year as a pro triathlete she won Clash Miami, Challenge Puerto Varas and Challenge Wales. She also finished 4th in the PTO US Open.
Sam Dickinson is 26 and just this year finished third at the Tongyeong World Triathlon Cup and took gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the Mixed Team Relay with England and the world Mixed Team Relay title with Great Britain. In 2024, he is still aiming for qualification for the Paris Olympics before fully committing to the longer distance. His first long-distance goal will be the IM World Championship 70.3 in Taupo.
In addition to the three newcomers, the BMC Pro Tri team in 2024 consists of Britain’s Lucy Buckingham-Hall, American Chris Leiferman and Danes Thor Bendix Madsen and Kristian Hogenhaug.
