Bruno Guimaraes had Newcastle’s supporters eating out of the palms of his hands as the Magpies sweept Manchester United aside.
The Magpies earned their spot in the Carabao Cup quarter finals with a 3-0 victory over the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock were enough to earn the win for Newcastle and pile the pressure on Erik ten Hag.
With Eddie Howe’s side waiting for the full-time whistle, Newcastle won a throw-in immediately in front of the travelling supporters, allowing to Guimaraes to rally the Newcastle fans.
Waving and gesturing with his hands for supporters to make even more noise, the Toon Army could be heard singing: “The Geordie boys are taking the mick.”
While Newcastle – who made eight changes on the night – were outstanding at Old Trafford, the main takeaway for many will be the poor display from the hosts.
Man United have now lost back to back games and conceded six in the process against Man City and Newcastle, leading the Toon fans to sing ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ to Ten Hag who is feeling the heat in the home dugout.
But it wasn’t just the supporters who were on the wind-up, with Newcastle’s official X account even getting in on the action.
Posting near the end of the game, they wrote: “Tonight’s attendance at Old Trafford is 72,000. Slightly less now.”
This was in reference to the Man United fans who had flooded to the exit gates after Willock’s strike on 60 minutes and beyond.
