Considered baseball royalty, the Cardinals ended up at the bottom of the NL Central standings in 2023. The team also went through a few transitions, with franchise pitcher Adam Wainwright retiring and outfielder Tyler O’Neill dealt to the Red Sox.
Since the end of last season, the Cardinals have looked to retool, on and off the field. The team added former catcher Yadier Molina as a front office special assistant and brought aboard veteran pitchers Sonny Gray, Lance Lynn, Kyle Gibson and Andrew Kittredge.
With the rest of the division evolving, the Cardinals look to prove the team still has what it takes to be the threat that held a firm grip over the division for years. To do that, the team must dust off a few cobwebs.

Cardinals spring training schedule 2024
Cardinals pitchers and catchers began workouts in Jupiter on Feb. 14, with the rest of the roster joining on Feb. 19.
Grapefruit League games begin a few days later, with the Cardinals starting games on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Roger Dean Stadium against the Marlins. The spring training slate concludes with a game against the team’s division rivals, the Cubs, in Arizona. The Cardinals open the regular season away against the Dodgers on March 28.
