Two of the Raiders’ biggest offensive threats, Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs, are currently questionable. With limited options for their rookie quarterback, Jakobi Meyers is the best candidate in silver and black to score a touchdown.
He has six touchdowns this season, and he is the only Raider to catch multiple touchdowns from Aidan O’Connell since replacing Jimmy Garoppolo under center.
He is the second-most targeted wideout on the team and should see additional looks tonight. He is up against a Chargers defense that has allowed the eighth most touchdowns this season through the air.
However, they are in the middle of the pack in rushing defense. Without their starting running back in Jacobs, the Raiders could rely on the passing game a lot more, setting up Meyers well to cover this line in what is expected to be a low-scoring affair.

With Justin Hubert’s season over due to injury, the Chargers are relying on Easton Stick. Although he has been in the league since 2019, he has little regular-season game experience. He completed 13 of his 24 passes for 179 yards against Denver last week.
Stick isn’t likely to light up the field, especially considering Vegas owns a top-10 passing defense this season.
To help protect him, the Chargers will likely go to quick screens and the run game a lot more than they have all season. That strategy bodes well for RB Austin Ekeler.
Ekeler averages 12 to 15 targets and carries per game, but tonight, he should be closer to 20. He didn’t play the first time these teams met, but the Raiders did allow two touchdowns on 37 team carries.

Tight ends are typically safety blankets for young tight ends, especially against teams with electric pass-rushing defenses. The Chargers are currently second in the league in total team sacks, with 43 on the season.
That pressure will require O’Connell to get the ball out quickly, which could mean more targets for the Raiders’ six-foot-four target. Mayer only has one receiving touchdown this season, but that one came courtesy of O’Connell.
Tight ends usually have solid games against LA as they look for hot routes. Only six defenses have more tight end targets than the Chargers, and four have given up more receiving yards to the position.
Against a rookie QB, you can expect a lot of pressure, and one of O’Connell’s best pressure-beating outlets is a position that thrives against the Chargers’ defense.
