Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been ordered to take a paternity test to determine if he is the biological father of a woman who filed a lawsuit against him in 2022.

Per documents obtained by Lana Ferguson and Jamie Landers of the Dallas Morning News, Dallas County judge Sandra Jackson upheld the decision that requires Jones to take a paternity test following a hearing that took place on Feb. 19.

Alexandra Davis originally filed a lawsuit against Jones in March 2022, alleging he is her biological father after the Cowboys owner and her mother had a relationship in the mid-1990s.

Documents from the original lawsuit stated that Jones and Davis’ mother, Cynthia Davis, reached a settlement to financially support mother and daughter as long as they agreed not to publicly identify Jones as Alexandra’s father.

The suit noted Jones denied paternity, but agreed to pay Cynthia Davis $375,000 and establish two trust funds for Alexandra.

Davis dropped the original lawsuit one month after it was filed, but one of her attorneys, Jay Gray, told Nataly Keomoungkhoun of the Dallas Morning News his client wasn’t recanting her claim that Jones is her father.

“Alexandra has just decided that she wants to go ahead and proceed with parentage and DNA testing,” Gray said. “She wants to remove any doubts that Jerry’s her father.”

Davis filed a defamation lawsuit against Jones in October in which she alleged he and two longtime associates “initiated a deliberate plan” to portray her as “an ‘extortionist’ and a ‘shakedown artist.'”

After a Texas federal judge dismissed the defamation lawsuit, Davis refiled it in November. The amended suit also named the Cowboys organization, Jones’ attorney Donald Jack Jr., Jones’ friend and adviser Jim Wilkinson and Wilkinson’s public relations firm, TrailRunner International, claiming they described her as engaging in “extortion” and a “shake down” of Jones.

The defamation lawsuit remains ongoing, with Ferguson and Landers noting there was a hearing about it earlier this month in which Jones’ defense attorneys asked for it to be dismissed, but no ruling has been made as of now.
