A fan chaotically interrupted a Major League Baseball game and paid a hard price.
During a contest between the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday night, a non-player suddenly appeared on the field and began sprinting across the outfield grass.

As fans in the stands tried to figure out what was happening, the fan on the field — who had approached an outfielder during a break in play — raced from center field to left field.
But that wasn’t enough.
The fan then did a backflip while a security member approached.
When fans watching in the stands cheered the athletic move, the fan who wasn’t supposed to be on the field tried to run away to freedom.
The security member acted fast, pulled out a taser gun and fired away.
The sprinting fan was stopped cold and soon fell to the ground.
As stunned players watched on the infield, a second security member rushed in to make sure that the on-field fan had finally finished a surreal fun run.
“I mean technically he resisting arrest after running the second time,” one fan tweeted.

“I think it’s funny as hell that he got tased but no way that’s procedure,” a second fan posted.
“That officer was not trying to be on anyone’s highlight reel, lol,” a third fan wrote.

While the fan might have tried to inspire the Reds, it didn’t work.
Cincinnati fell 5-3 at home to the Guardians and dropped to 32-35 overall this season.
Cleveland improved to 43-22 on an electric night at the ballpark.
The Guardians are in third place in the American League, trailing only the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles.
The Reds are half a game out of the final wild card spot in the National League.
Tuesday night was the latest reminder that anything can happen at a baseball game — and sometimes it’s something that’s never been seen before.
Such as a fan taking over the field, pulling off a perfect back flip, then getting tased and hitting the grass.
