Dana White “Got Mad” Back Stage Reveals Gilbert Burns After Kids and Wife’s Unfortunate Involvement During Sean Strickland, Dricus Du Plessis Brawl at UFC 296
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

UFC 296 experienced fights both inside and outside the octagon. Chaos ensued during the Tony Ferguson and Paddy Pimblett match, where a scuffle broke out involving Sean Strickland throwing punches at Dricus du Plessis. The middleweight title fight took place ahead of the scheduled date, and Dana White was visibly displeased with the situation.

At this point, most people have probably come across the widely shared footage of Strickland and du Plessis involved in a scuffle amidst the crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The incident kicked off with Strickland politely asking members of the audience, including Burns’ family, to make way, allowing him an unobstructed path to approach his adversary for the upcoming UFC 297 main event. Now Gilbert Burns explains what was Dana White’s prime reaction to the incident.

Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis engaged in an all-out brawl on the sideli͏nes of the UFC 296 event. What initially ͏began as a humorous banter by Du Plessi͏s quickly escalated into a chaotic melee, involving multiple people in the vicinity. Dana White, who was present alongside Donald Trump, had to intervene to address the situation.

Strickland had to be escorted out of the arena and Du Plessis was allowed to stay. White was not happy with how the fighters behaved and claimed that somebody could have been hurt by their lack of professionalism. Interestingly, Gilbert Burns’s family as there just near Du Plessis and Strickland and Burns got all the information about what and what had not happened.

While having a conversation with ex-UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’Jackson on his ‘Jaxxon Podcast,’ Burns went into the details of the aftermath. “Dana got mad at them. Dana got it, he came. He was just asking, “Hey, is anyone going?” Everybody’s good? “Yeah, we good, whatever, for sure.” I guess he got mad at the guys a little bit because that could go one worse, you know? That could go bad,” said Burns.

Dana White’s anger was justified because there were children nearby. Initially, people thought that Strickland was wrong for his actions, but as new information came out, Strickland’s stance seemed palpable. Burns further explained that he knew something like this would materialize.

Burns was well aware the brawl would happen

Burns’ wife, Bruna explained that Du Plessis agitated Strickland to take such action. Gilbert recently made a disclosure that Strickland had given him a heads-up well in advance about a potential altercation. “When Sean came, he came and then he kind of looked at the guy, I think he’s already like, ‘Man, s***. You brought your wife and your kids?’” said Burns.

He further added, “I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Yeah, this frickin’ guy is right there. I might do stuff with this guy.’ That was before the fight, when he walked in, he already had the thing in his head: ‘If I do something, I’ll give you the heads up.’ Whenever the thing started going down, this guy kind of looked at me and said, ‘Now.’”

The brawl happened a few minutes after the conversation. Nonetheless, Strickland and Du Plessis are slated to headline the UFC 297 event. Who do you think will win the match? Tell us about your opinion in the comments below.
