The action in York for the annual Dante festival gets underway on Wednesday at 2:15pm in the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Jorvik Handicap, in which Klondike is currently a narrow favourite at 10/3 for victory.
The main event on the opening day of racing will come at 3:45pm in the Musidora Stakes, which acts as a trial for next month’s Epsom Oaks, in which Friendly Soul is an early odds on favourite at 4/5 for victory on Wednesday afternoon.
The festival’s feature race, the Dante Stakes, a recognised trial for the Epsom Derby later this year, which was won last year by The Foxes, and the favourite to do so this year is Ancient Wisdom at Evens.
The Yorkshire Cup Stakes makes up the headline act of the third and final day of racing at Dante this year, in which Aidan O’Brien’s Tower of London is the early 11/8 favourite.
