Dele Alli was quick to pay his respect to the travelling Everton fans that flew out to Switzerland for the pre-season clash against Stade Nyonnais.

The 27-year-old recently opened up on his traumatic childhood trauma and addiction with sleeping pills in a brave interview with Gary Neville.

His shocking truth has been met with an outpouring of support, from his partner to former clubs, players and football fans.

But despite Alli reduced to tears during his conversation on ‘The Overlap’, he was all smiles in Switzerland for Everton’s first pre-season clash.

Alli didn’t make the squad, but that didn’t stop him from interacting with his adoring fans.

He took the time to pose for pictures, while he was even spotted signing a black shirt following a training session.

And the Tottenham cult hero even smiled for the camera as a fan held up a sign that read: “We are all with you Dele.”

The former MK Dons star will be looking to make a big impression under Sean Dyche next season after returning from his loan spell at Turkish side Besiktas.

He has been limited to just 13 appearances for the Merseyside outfit since arriving on a free transfer in January 2022.

Alli, who revealed to Neville he considered retiring aged 24 after falling out of favour at Spurs, will also be hoping to get some minutes under his belt in pre-season.

Everton beat Swiss second-tier outfit Stade Nyonnais 2-1 on Friday, with youngster Katia Kouyate and striker Neal Maupay scoring in the second half.

The Toffees face Wigan in their next pre-season outing at the DW Stadium next week, before putting their wits against Tranmere and Bolton.

Dyche’s side then battle Championship side Stoke, before finishing with a match against Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon at Goodison Park on August 5.
