Even in cases where talented golfers on the LPGA Tour, such as Nelly Korda, have made a mark in the sport. The Solheim Cup star has proven to be an exceptional athlete in the seven years that she has played as a professional.

And, expressing her views on the differences between professionals, including the likes of Korda, was another LPGA Tour Pro. The golfer was quick to provide her opinion on her being supposedly “compared” to the 25-year-old, all the while pointing out how there are a lot of things that the “naked eye” can miss out on!

Although Jenny Shin only has a total of four top-10 finishes in 2023, she has already proved herself to be a talented athlete with the techniques and skills that she has displayed on the course. And, while taking the same into consideration, the South Korean pro had a lot to say about the differences between some golfers, including Korda’s.
A post was uploaded on Twitter by the 31-year-old expressing how most of the people watching the sport would not be able to point out the “differences between some of the best players on our(LPGA) tour.” Adding on, she divulged how it may seem “similar” to the “naked eye” taking into consideration one’s “tempo and textbook positions.” Bringing in the 8X LPGA Tour pro into the discussion, the ‘Other Cover Girl’ of women’s golf indicated how the “only comparison” one can make between Jessica Korda and her sister was their similar “height”.

However, putting herself and the 1X major winner “side to side,” Shin disclosed how futile it is to “compare” the two with a difference of 7 inches in height. Although the two golfers have the same “theory of generating power,” the 1X LPGA Tour champ revealed how it would not help her gain anything to be contrasted to Korda especially if both of them were to “use the same length of shaft” as the South Korean golfer.
Most of you won’t be able to truly tell me the differences between some of the best players on our tour. With your naked eye, it may all look similar given our tempo and textbook positions.

Well, Shin did elaborate extensively on what the untrained person can miss out on when contrasting two different athletes. However, what about the data that even a normal person can see and help in comparing the two golfers with each other?
The American finished a total of ten times in the top 10, including just a solo win at the Aramco Team Series London-Individual with a score of 11-under 208 over three days. However, the same could not be said for the 31-year-old, as she experienced a rough year amidst many struggles.

The golfer’s best finish in 2023 came at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship where she finished T3 with a score of 15-under-par 198 over the three rounds that took place in the Pinnacle Country Club. Well, both the golfers did not have the best of seasons. Here’s to hoping that the two are able to get back on their feet in 2024 and come back stronger than ever.
