The Buccaneers defended home field and now, they’re headed to the NFC divisional round for a matchup with the Lions.
It was a wire-to-wire beatdown for Tampa Bay, who thrashed the Eagles’ defense for 426 total yards in a 32-9 victory.
Baker Mayfield came out slinging from the get-go, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions. He spread the ball all around the field, throwing touchdowns to Chris Godwin and unsung heroes like David Moore and Trey Palmer. Cade Otton led the way with eight receptions for 89 yards, while Mike Evans still made some big plays for three receptions and 48 yards.
Philadelphia couldn’t shake its recent poor stretch of play, closing the season with six losses in its last seven games. Jalen Hurts never seemed to get into a rhythm despite going 25-for-35 for 250 yards and a touchdown. DeVonta Smith stepped up in A.J. Brown’s absence with eight receptions and 148 yards, but the other Eagles couldn’t do enough to overcome their faulty defense.
